Chtchoukine, Matisse, la danse et la musique
Boddeke and Greenaway have created a poetic multi-screen-video installation inspired by the two paintings: La Danse and La Musique of Henri Matisse. The video is a visual dance poem that tells about these two paintings, the relationship between the painter Henri Matisse and the Russian visionary collector of French modern art Sergei Shchukin and the timeframe they lived in.
Together with the Spanish choreographer Juanjo Arques and the dancers of The Dutch National Ballet, Boddeke has created an atmosphere of balance and harmony. The dance is accompanied by the music of the Italian composer Luca D’Alberto which reflects the ‘sound’ of the painting Music.
